IKEA didn't have shelves narrow enough to just hold a speaker each. Rather than leave dejected, I got bamboo IeKEA cutting boards and shelf brackets!
I drilled holes perfectly 16" apart per what I believed to be the stud spacing. Upon more careful use of the stud finder, I found this to be a mistake as the house I am in is from 1942 and has non-standard stud spacing.
Doing it right this time! I first measured the stud spacing, put up the brackets, then marked the cutting boards and drilled new holes.
The completed shelves with speakers! I used hot glue to tuck the speaker wire along the edges of the wall.
